Reducing Shipping Rates in Europe
Quality control activities in our Warehouse
The standard picking and packing process frequently encounters challenges. Some common issues include wrong labeling, misaligned cardboard punching, stickers applied in the wrong spots, incorrect printing on products, improper wrapping, a need for assortment adjustments, and occasional defects that call for stricter quality control measures.
Data analysis after Quality Controls offers important insights for warehouse managers, helping to identify the most frequent errors and issues. This information underscores the critical need for rigorous order inspections prior to shipping. This becomes even more vital when dealing with time-sensitive orders or when the workflow is operating at an accelerated pace.
We are using different quality control tools during the pick & pack process.
Checklist Sheet
Our Operations team at Shipbloc is implementing a Checklist Sheet for every client to manage the Quality control process. A Check sheet is a structured, prepared form for collecting and analyzing pick&pack data. It offers an organized way to record frequency or patterns of every manual actions, events, issues, defects, or other relevant measures, making it easier to identify trends and draw actionable insights. This sheet is providing a strict utlity in our warehouse operations. . Whether it’s ticking off daily tasks, conducting inventory counts, or tracking the occurrence of issues, checklist sheets empower our warehouse team to take greater responsibility for their work.
Workflow Process
Every partner of Shipbloc demands a different workflow during order and batch processing. Using a digital flowchart in our operations illustrates each step in a workflow. This approach also enables our warehouse teams to implement improvements on daily base rather than revamping the entire workflow. By comparing reports and data on the current workflows, our warehouse managers can differentiate between normal fluctuations and unexpected spikes. A warehouse manager can utilize a histogram to identify which issues occur more often than others. Based on these insights, adjustments can be made to the shipping workflow.
Modern Verification Methods
Scanners and streamlined procedures minimize the reliance on manual techniques for verifying orders. The Scan-to-Cart system allows an operator to quickly scan items designated for multiple orders onto a picking cart. Another approach, weight verification scanning, effectively reduces packing errors.
